Cybersecurity SOC analyst and cloud security course hero: shield and security icons

Quick answer: Choose Cybersecurity – SOC Analyst & Cloud Security if you want to detect and respond to attacks as a SOC analyst. Choose Cloud & DevOps Engineering if you want to build and run cloud systems with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and automation. Both teach some AWS, so they overlap, but the daily work is different.

Every course at Scholar’sEdge Academy in JP Nagar, Bangalore runs 3 hours a day from Monday to Friday plus a Saturday lab, has a weekend batch, and includes a 2-month internship.

What you do in the cybersecurity course

You learn networking, Linux and Windows administration and scripting, then threats, the OWASP Top 10 and security testing tools. The SOC part covers SIEM tools, log analysis, MITRE ATT&CK and incident response, then detections, threat hunting and AI-assisted triage. You also cover AWS and Azure cloud security, LLM security basics, and ISO 27001 and DPDP Act basics, and you work simulated SOC shifts.

What you do in the Cloud & DevOps course

You learn Linux, networking and shell scripting, AWS core services, containers with Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD with Jenkins and GitHub Actions, infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, and monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana. You also cover data-centre operations basics, cloud cost basics and an introduction to AI infrastructure.

How to choose

  • You like investigating, spotting patterns and responding to incidents: cybersecurity.
  • You like automating, building pipelines and keeping systems running: Cloud & DevOps.
  • You work in network or IT support now: both are open to you. Pick the direction that interests you more.
  • You are interested in compliance and policy: the cybersecurity course includes ISO 27001 and DPDP Act basics and leads to GRC Associate roles.

Can you do both?

Yes, one after the other. We do not have a combo for this pair, so you would take them as two courses. Cloud & DevOps first gives you the infrastructure background, and the cybersecurity course then covers securing it on AWS and Azure.
